I've been looking
01:32
Several days now
01:33
Where did they go?
01:35
Where did they go?
01:37
My mama told me long ago
01:40
I've lost so many precious things, I know
01:46
They won't be back
01:49
Where did they go?
01:51
My mama told me long ago
01:54
Ain't nobody's ever gonna tell me
to abandon my old friend
01:59
Happy days, walking on the shore
02:03
Happy days, walking on the shore
02:07
Happy days, walking on the shore
02:10
Ain't nobody's ever gonna tell me
to abandon my good memories at all
02:15
I've seen so many pretty things
02:26
They don't mean a thing now
02:29
Listen to the song
02:31
My mama told me long ago
02:35
Ain't nobody's ever gonna tell me
to doubt my good old days
03:00
Happy days, walking on the shore
03:04
Happy days, walking on the shore

Happy days, walking on the shore
03:11

to abandon my good memories at all

03:52
Thank you for giving me the opportunity
to perform tonight at TED New York.
03:58
I've been a dedicated TED fan and viewer,
04:04
and also, I actually used to live
in Manhattan when I was younger,
04:07
so New York is like a second home to me,
and it's great to be back.
04:12
The song I just performed
was called "my mama,"
04:18
and the next song I'm going to perform
04:21
is another original song of mine
called "BLACK BANANA."
04:23
This song I wrote about the importance
of being patient with your dreams.
04:28
Because I think commitment
will always be rewarded.
04:34
Just like fruit ripens
when the time is right.
04:39
So it's my interpretation
of building the future.
04:42
(Guitar music starts)
04:49
Clap your hands.
05:07
One!
05:37
Two!
05:38
One, two, one, two, three, four.
05:40
Sitting here, killing time,
I've been doing it all day
05:57
I've been always smart
when it comes to gettin' away
06:01
Got a soda pop fizzin' hard
in my empty brain
06:04
When the time is right I'll move
alright so don't get too uptight
06:08
Silly girls in bathing suits
cleaning cars on Sundays
06:12
They're living a lie
don't make as fool of yourself too soon
06:15
Lining my bananas
on the window sill to ripen
06:19
When the time is right I'll move
alright so don't get too uptight
06:22
Bananananana sekasanaide

Remember last December
when we went to get some pizza
06:48
Was a brat, was running fast
to get home by my curfew
06:52
Silly me, tripping quick,
I was almost killed by a honker
06:55
When the time is right I'll move
alright so don't get too uptight
