Everyone, please think

2000
Xahiş edirəm ki, hər bir kəs
00:17
of your biggest personal goal.
1
2000
3000
özünün ən böyük şəxsi məqsədini düşünsün.
00:20
For real -- you can take a second. You've got to feel this to learn it.
2
5000
3000
Ciddiyəm. Bir saniyə ərzində düşünün. Öyrənmək üçün bunu hiss etməlisiniz.
00:23
Take a few seconds and think of your personal biggest goal, okay?
3
8000
3000
Bir neçə saniyə ərzində özünüzün ən böyük şəxsi məqsədi haqda düşünün, yaxşı?
00:26
Imagine deciding right now
4
11000
2000
Təsəvvür edin ki, elə bu an
00:28
that you're going to do it.
5
13000
2000
haqqında fikirləşdiyiniz məqsədi həyata keçirmək qərarını verirsiniz.
00:30
Imagine telling someone that you meet today what you're going to do.
6
15000
3000
Təsəvvür edin ki, bü gün tanış olduğunuz bir insanla bunu edəcəyiniz haqda bölüşürsünüz.
00:33
Imagine their congratulations
7
18000
2000
Bu insanın sizi təbrik etməsini
00:35
and their high image of you.
8
20000
2000
və sizin haqda olan xoş fikirlərini təsəvvür edin.
00:37
Doesn't it feel good to say it out loud?
9
22000
2000
Bunu ucadan söyləmək yaxşı hiss olunur, elə deyilmi?
00:39
Don't you feel one step closer already,
10
24000
3000
Siz özünüzü artıq bir addım qabaqda olduğunuz kimi hiss etmirsinizmi?
00:42
like it's already becoming part of your identity?
11
27000
3000
Sanki məqsədiniz şəxsiyyətinizin artıq ayrılmaz bir hissəsidir.
00:45
Well, bad news: you should have kept your mouth shut,
12
30000
3000
Bəd xəbər: siz ağzınızı yumulu saxlamalı idiniz.
00:48
because that good feeling
13
33000
2000
Çünki keçirdiyiniz o xoş hisslər
00:50
now will make you less likely to do it.
14
35000
3000
məqsədinizə çatma ehtimalını aşağı saldı.
00:53
Repeated psychology tests have proven
15
38000
2000
Təkrarən aparılmış psixoloji testlər təsdiq etdi ki,
00:55
that telling someone your goal
16
40000
2000
başqaları ilə məqsədiniz haqda paylaşma
00:57
makes it less likely to happen.
17
42000
2000
onun həyata keçməsini çətinləşdirir.
00:59
Any time you have a goal,
18
44000
2000
Qarşınıza bir məqsəd qoyan zaman
01:01
there are some steps that need to be done, some work that needs to be done
19
46000
2000
ona çatmaqdan ötrü atmalı olduğunuz
01:03
in order to achieve it.
20
48000
2000
müəyyən addımlar var.
01:05
Ideally, you would not be satisfied until you had actually done the work.
21
50000
3000
İdeal bir vəziyyətdə, siz bu addımları atmadan qane olmamalısınız.
01:08
But when you tell someone your goal and they acknowledge it,
22
53000
3000
Lakin başqa insanlara məqsədiniz haqda deyəndə və onlar bunu qəbul edəndə
01:11
psychologists have found that it's called a "social reality."
23
56000
3000
psixoloqların "sosial reallıq" adlandırdığı bir proses baş verir.
01:14
The mind is kind of tricked into feeling that it's already done.
24
59000
3000
Beyniniz məqsədinizə artıq çatmış kimi yalançı hisslər keçirir.
01:17
And then, because you felt that satisfaction,
25
62000
2000
Və bundan sonra da, özünüzdə
01:19
you're less motivated to do
26
64000
2000
məqsədə çatmaqdan ötrü tələb olunan işi
01:21
the actual hard work necessary. (Laughter)
27
66000
3000
görmək üçün daha az motivasiya hiss edirsiniz.
01:24
So this goes against the conventional wisdom
28
69000
2000
Beləliklə bu, dostlarımızın məqsədlərimizə çatmaqda bizə
01:26
that we should tell our friends our goals, right --
29
71000
2000
kömək etmələri üçün onlarla paylaşmağın vacıb olması haqda
01:28
so they hold us to it.
30
73000
3000
adət etdiyimiz ənənə ilə ziddir, elə deyilmi?
01:31
So, let's look at the proof.
31
76000
2000
Gəlin mövcud olan sübuta baxaq.
01:33
1926, Kurt Lewin, founder of social psychology,
32
78000
2000
1926-ci ildə sosial psixologiyanın banisi Kurt Levin
01:35
called this "substitution."
33
80000
2000
bunu "əvəz etmə" adlandırmışdır.
01:37
1933, Vera Mahler found,
34
82000
2000
1933-cü ildə Vera Mahler aşkar etmişdir ki,
01:39
when it was acknowledged by others, it felt real in the mind.
35
84000
3000
başqaları tərəfindən qəbul olunmuş bir şey beynimizdə real kimi hiss olunur.
01:42
1982, Peter Gollwitzer wrote a whole book about this
36
87000
3000
1982-ci ildə Peter Gollvitzer bu haqda hətta bir kitab yazmışdır
01:45
and in 2009,
37
90000
2000
və 2009-cu ildə
01:47
he did some new tests that were published.
38
92000
2000
o yeni eksperimentlər keçirmiş və onları çap etmişdir.
01:49
It goes like this:
39
94000
2000
Eksperiment bundan ibarət idi.
01:51
163 people across four separate tests --
40
96000
3000
163 insan 4 ayrı-ayrı testdən keçmiş.
01:54
everyone wrote down their personal goal.
41
99000
3000
İştirakçıların hər biri öz şəxsi məqsədini yazılı şəkildə qeyd etmişdir.
01:57
Then half of them announced their commitment to this goal to the room,
42
102000
3000
İştirakçıların yarısı otaqda olan digər insanlara məqsədləri haqda söylədi
02:00
and half didn't.
43
105000
2000
o biri yarısı isə söyləmədi.
02:02
Then everyone was given 45 minutes of work
44
107000
2000
Bundan sonra iştirakçıların hamısı onları məqsədlərinə çatdıracaq
02:04
that would directly lead them towards their goal,
45
109000
3000
45-dəqiqəlik tapşırığı yerinə yetirməli idi.
02:07
but they were told that they could stop at any time.
46
112000
2000
Və onlara deyilmişdir ki, tapşırığın yerinə yetirilməsini istədikləri vaxt dayandıra bilərlər.
02:09
Now, those who kept their mouths shut
47
114000
2000
Nəticələrə əsasən, məqsədləri haqda susmuş iştirakçılar
02:11
worked the entire 45 minutes, on average,
48
116000
3000
orta hesabla bütün 45 dəqiqə ərzinda çalışmışlar.
02:14
and when asked afterwards,
49
119000
2000
və sonradan aparılan sorğuda söyləmişdilər ki,
02:16
said that they felt that they had a long way to go still to achieve their goal.
50
121000
3000
məqsədlərinə çatmaqdan ötrü daha çox işləməli olduqlarını hiss etmişdilər.
02:19
But those who had announced it
51
124000
2000
Məqsədləri haqda digərlərinə bildirən şəxslər isə
02:21
quit after only 33 minutes, on average,
52
126000
3000
33 dəqiqə işlədikdən sonra vaz keçdilər
02:24
and when asked afterwards,
53
129000
2000
və testdən sonraki sorğuda bildirmişdilər ki,
02:26
said that they felt much closer to achieving their goal.
54
131000
2000
məqsədlərinə daha yaxın olmalarını hiss etdilər.
02:28
So, if this is true,
55
133000
2000
Bütün bunlar doğrudursa
02:30
what can we do?
56
135000
2000
biz nə edə bilərik?
02:32
Well, you could resist the temptation
57
137000
2000
Birincisi, məqsədlərinizi paylaşmaq
02:34
to announce your goal.
58
139000
2000
istəyinizə qalib gələ bilərsiniz.
02:36
You can delay the gratification
59
141000
2000
Ətrafdakilarınız tərəfindən qəbul olunmanın gətirdiyi
02:38
that the social acknowledgement brings,
60
143000
2000
sevinci təxirə sala bilərsiniz.
02:40
and you can understand that your mind
61
145000
2000
Və beyninizin danışmağı yerinə yetirmək ilə
02:42
mistakes the talking for the doing.
62
147000
3000
səhv saldığını anlaya bilərsiniz.
02:45
But if you do need to talk about something,
63
150000
2000
Lakin siz hər hansı bir şey haqda danışmaq istəyini duyursunuzsa
02:47
you can state it in a way
64
152000
2000
bunu elə bir şəkildə edə bilərsiniz ki,
02:49
that gives you no satisfaction,
65
154000
2000
sizə sevinc və qane olma hissini verməsin.
02:51
such as, "I really want to run this marathon,
66
156000
2000
Misal üçün deyə bilərsiniz ki: "Mən həqiqətən də bu marafonda iştirak etmək istəyirəm
02:53
so I need to train five times a week
67
158000
2000
və bunun üçün də həftədə 5 dəfə çalışmalıyam
02:55
and kick my ass if I don't, okay?"
68
160000
3000
və bunu etməsəm mənə acıqlanın, yaxşı?"
02:58
So audience, next time you're tempted to tell someone your goal,
69
163000
3000
Və beləliklə, auditoriya, gələcəkdə məqsədinizi bölüşmək arzusunda olanda
03:01
what will you say? (Silence)
70
166000
2000
nə deyəcəksiniz?
03:03
Exactly, well done.
71
168000
3000
Tamamilə doğrudur! Afərin!
03:06
