Sunt un student doctorand,
00:19
and that meansmijloace I have a questionîntrebare:
1
4000
2000
şi asta înseamnă că am o întrebare:
00:21
how can we make digitaldigital contentconţinut graspablegraspable?
2
6000
3000
00:24
Because you see,
3
9000
2000
Pentru că vedeţi,
00:26
on the one handmână, there is the digitaldigital worldlume
4
11000
2000
pe de-o parte, este lumea digitală,
00:28
and no questionîntrebare, manymulți things are happeninglucru there right now.
5
13000
3000
00:32
And for us humansoameni, it's not quitedestul de materialmaterial, it's not really there --
6
17000
2000
00:34
it's virtualvirtual.
7
19000
2000
E virtual.
00:36
On the other handmână, we humansoameni,
8
21000
2000
Pe de altă parte, noi oameni,
00:38
we livetrăi in a physicalfizic worldlume.
9
23000
2000
trăim în lumea fizică.
00:40
It's richbogat, it tastesgusturile good, it feelsse simte good, it smellsmiroase good.
10
25000
3000
Este bogată, are gust bun, se simte bine, miroase bine.
00:43
So the questionîntrebare is: how do we get the stuffchestie over
11
28000
2000
Deci întrebarea e: cum aducem lucrurile
00:45
from the digitaldigital into the physicalfizic?
12
30000
2000
din lumea digitală în cea fizică?
00:47
That's my questionîntrebare.
13
32000
2000
Asta e întrebarea mea.
00:49
If you look at the iPhoneiPhone with its touchatingere
14

00:51
and the WiiWii with its bodilytrupeşte activityactivitate,
15

şi la Wii cu activitatea sa fizică,
00:53
you can see the tendencytendinţă; it's gettingobtinerea physicalfizic.
16
38000
3000
poţi vedea tendinţa; totul devine fizic.
00:56
The questionîntrebare is: what's nextUrmător →?
17
41000
3000
Întrebare e: ce urmează?
00:59
Now, I have threeTrei optionsOpțiuni that I would like to showspectacol you.
18
44000
3000
01:02
The first one is massmasa.
19
47000
2000
Prima este greutatea.
01:04
As humansoameni, we are sensitivesensibil
20
49000
2000
Ca oameni, suntem sensibili
01:06
to where an objectobiect in our handmână is heavygreu.
21
51000
2000
01:08
So, could we use that in mobilemobil phonestelefoane?
22
53000
3000
Deci, putem folosi asta în telefoanele mobile?
01:11
Let me showspectacol you the weight-shiftingGreutate-deplasare mobilemobil.
23
56000
2000
01:13
It is a mobilemobil phone-shapedîn formă de telefon boxcutie
24
58000
2000
E o cutie cu forma unui telefon mobil
01:15
that has an ironfier weightgreutate insideinterior, whichcare we can movemișcare around,
25
60000
3000
01:18
and you can feel where it's heavygreu.
26
63000
2000
Şi poţi simţi unde e grea.
01:20
We shiftschimb the gravitationalgravitaționale centercentru of it.
27
65000
3000
Îi mutam centrul de greutate.
01:23
For exampleexemplu, we can augmentaugmentația digitaldigital contentconţinut
28
68000
3000
De exemplu, putem completa conţinutul digital
01:26
with physicalfizic massmasa.
29
71000
2000
cu greutatea fizică.
01:28
So you movemișcare around the contentconţinut on a displayafişa,
30
73000
2000
01:30
but you can alsode asemenea feel where it is just from the weightgreutate of the devicedispozitiv.
31
75000
3000
01:34
AnotherUn alt thing it's good for is navigationnavigare --
32
79000
3000
01:37
it can guideghid you around in a cityoraș.
33
82000
2000
Te poate ghida printr-un oraş.
01:39
It can tell you by its weightgreutate,
34
84000
2000
Îţi poate spune prin greutate,
01:41
"Okay, movemișcare right. WalkDe mers pe jos aheadînainte. Make a left here."
35
86000
3000
"Bine, du-te în dreapta. Mergi drept înainte. Ia-o la stânga aici."
01:44
And the good thing about that is you don't have to look at the devicedispozitiv all the time;
36
89000
3000
Şi lucrul bun în asta e că nu trebuie să te uiţi la dispozitiv tot timpul;
01:47
you have your eyesochi freegratuit to see the cityoraș.
37
92000
2000
ai ochii liberi să vezi oraşul.
01:49
Now, massmasa is the first thing;
38
94000
3000
Acum, greutatea a fost primul lucru.
01:52
the secondal doilea thing, that's shapeformă.
39
97000
2000
Al doilea e forma.
01:54
We're alsode asemenea sensitivesensibil to the shapeformă of objectsobiecte we have in [our] handsmâini.
40
99000
3000
01:57
So if I downloadDescarca an e-booke-book and it has 20 pagespagini --
41
102000
3000
02:00
well, they could be thinsubţire, right --
42
105000
2000
ei bine, ar putea să fie subţire, corect --
02:02
but if it has 500 pagespagini, I want to feel that "HarryHarry PotterPotter" --
43
107000
3000
02:05
it's thickgros. (LaughterRâs)
44
110000
2000
E groasă.
02:07
So let me showspectacol you the shape-changingschimbare formă mobilemobil.
45
112000
3000
02:10
Again, it's a mobilemobil phone-shapedîn formă de telefon boxcutie,
46
115000
2000
Din nou, e o cutie in forma unui telefon mobil.
02:12
and this one can changeSchimbare its shapeformă.
47
117000
2000
Şi acesta-şi poate schimba forma.
02:16
We can playa juca with the shapeformă itselfîn sine.
48
121000
2000
Ne putem juca cu forma în sine.
02:18
For exampleexemplu, it can be thinsubţire in your pocketbuzunar,
49
123000
2000
02:20
whichcare we of coursecurs want it to be;
50
125000
2000
şi desigur aşa vrem să fie,
02:22
but then if you holddeține it in your handmână, it can leana se sprijini towardscătre you, be thickgros.
51
127000
3000
02:25
It's like taperedconică to the downsidedezavantaj.
52
130000
2000
E ca şi cum ar fi aplecat în partea de jos.
02:27
If you changeSchimbare the graspînţelege, it can adjustregla to that.
53
132000
3000
02:31
It's alsode asemenea usefulutil if you want to put it down on your nightstandnoptieră to watch a moviefilm
54
136000
3000
02:34
or use as an alarmalarma clockceas, it standsstanduri.
55
139000
3000
02:37
It's fairlydestul de simplesimplu.
56
142000
2000
E foarte simplu.
02:39
AnotherUn alt thing is,
57
144000
2000
Un alt lucru e că,
02:41
sometimesuneori we watch things on a mobilemobil phonetelefon,
58
146000
2000
02:43
they are biggermai mare than the phonetelefon itselfîn sine.
59
148000
2000
02:45
So in that casecaz -- like here, there's an appaplicaţia that's biggermai mare than the phone'stelefonului screenecran --
60
150000
3000
02:48
the shapeformă of the phonetelefon could tell you,
61
153000
2000
forma telefonului ar putea să-ţi spună,
02:50
"Okay, off the screenecran right here, there is more contentconţinut.
62
155000
2000
"Bine, pe partea asta a ecranului există mai mult conţinut.
02:52
You can't see it, but it's there."
63
157000
2000
Nu-l poţi vedea, dar e acolo."
02:54
And you can feel that because it's thickermai gros at that edgemargine.
64
159000
3000
02:57
The shapeformă is the secondal doilea thing.
65
162000
3000
Forma e al doilea lucru.
03:00
The thirdal treilea thing operatesopereaza on a differentdiferit levelnivel.
66
165000
3000
Al treilea lucur funcţionează la alt nivel.
03:03
As humansoameni, we are socialsocial, we are empathicempatică,
67
168000
3000
Ca oameni, suntem sociali, suntem empatici,
03:06
and that's great.
68
171000
2000
şi asta este foarte bine.
03:08
Wouldn'tNu s-ar that be a way to make mobilemobil phonestelefoane more intuitiveintuitiv?
69
173000
3000
03:11
Think of a hamsterhamster in the pocketbuzunar.
70
176000
2000
Gândiţi-vă la un hamster în buzunar.
03:13
Well, I can feel it, it's doing all right -- I don't have to checkVerifica it.
71
178000
3000
Ei bine, îl pot simţi. E în regulă. nu trebuie să-l verific.
03:16
Let me showspectacol you the livingviaţă mobilemobil phonetelefon.
72
181000
3000
Hai să vă arăt telefonul mobil viu.
03:19
So, onceo singura data again, mobilemobil phone-shapedîn formă de telefon boxcutie,
73
184000
3000
Deci, încă odată, cutia în forma unui telefon.
03:22
but this one, it has a breathsuflare and a heartbeatbataile inimii,
74
187000
3000
03:25
and it feelsse simte very organicorganic.
75
190000
2000
şi se simte foarte organică.
03:27
(LaughterRâs)
76
192000
2000
(Râsete)
03:29
And you can tell, it's relaxedrelaxat right now.
77
194000
2000
După cum vă daţi seama, e relaxată acum.
03:31
Oh now, missedratat call, a newnou call,
78
196000
2000
Oh, acum, un apel pierdut, un nou apel,
03:33

79

03:35

80

3000
Foarte emoţionat.
03:38
How do we calmcalm it down?
81

03:40

83
207000

şi totul e în regulă din nou.
03:45
So, that's very intuitiveintuitiv, and that's what we want.
84
210000
2000
Deci, asta e foarte intuitiv, şi asta vrem.
03:47
So, what we have seenvăzut are threeTrei waysmoduri
