BJKBJK: First of all, Bobby鮑比 Riggs里格斯 --
he was the former前任的 number one player播放機,
11
30835
3319
00:46
he wasn't just some hacker黑客, by the way.
12

00:48
He was one of my heroes英雄 and I admired尊敬的 him.

00:51
And that's the reason原因 I beat擊敗 him,
actually其實, because I respected尊敬 him.
14
39848
3488
00:55
(Laughter
15
43360
1099
00:56
It's true真正 -- my mom媽媽
and especially特別 my dad always said:
16
44483
2596
00:59
"Respect尊重 your opponent對手,
and never underestimate低估 them, ever."
17
47103
2878
01:02
And he was correct正確.
He was absolutely絕對 correct正確.
18
50005
2288
01:05
But I knew知道 it was about social社會 change更改.
19
53245
2037
01:08
And I was really nervous緊張
whenever每當 we announced公佈 it,
20
56962
3362
01:12
and I felt like the whole整個 world世界
was on my shoulders肩膀.
21
60348
2869
01:15
And I thought, "If I lose失去, it's going
to put women婦女 back 50 years年份, at least最小."
22
63241
5661
01:20
Title標題 IXIX had just been passed通過
the year before -- June六月 23, 1972.
23
68926
3897
01:28
there were nine of us who signed
a one-dollar一美元 contract合同 in 1970 --
25
76490
3273
01:31
now remember記得, the match比賽 is in '73.
26
79787
2099
01:34
So we were only in our
third第三 year of having a tour遊覽
27
82454
3160
01:37
where we could actually其實 play,
have a place地點 to compete競爭 and make a living活的.
28
85638
4260
01:41
So there were nine of us that signed
01:44
And our dream夢想 was for any girl女孩,
born天生 any place地點 in the world世界 --
30
92942
4969
01:49
if she was good enough足夠 --
31
97935
1558
01:51
there would be a place地點 for her to compete競爭
and for us to make a living活的.
32
99517
4111
01:55
Because before 1968,
we made製作 14 dollars美元 a day,
33
103652
3760
01:59
and we were under the control控制
of organizations組織.
34
107436
2452
02:01
So we really wanted
to break打破 away from that.
35
109912
2193
02:04
But we knew知道 it wasn't really
about our generation so much;
36
112129
2716
02:06
we knew知道 it was about
the future未來 generations.
37
114869
2050
02:08
We do stand on the shoulders肩膀 of the people
that came來了 before us, there is no question.
38
116943
4005
02:12
But every一切 generation
has the chance機會 to make it better.
39
120972
2533
02:16
That was really on my mind心神.
40
124265
2417
02:18
I really wanted to start開始 matching匹配
the hearts心中 and minds頭腦 to Title標題 IXIX.
41
126706
3619
02:22
Title標題 IXIX, in case案件 anybody任何人 doesn't know,
which哪一個 a lot of people probably大概 don't,
42
130349
3787
02:26
said that any federal聯邦 funds資金 given特定
to a high school學校, college學院 or university大學,
43
134160
4278
02:30
either public上市 or private私人的,
44
138462
2074
02:32
had to -- finally最後 --
give equal等於 monies款項 to boys男孩 and girls女孩.
45
140560
4902
02:37
And that changed everything.
46
145909
1491
02:39
(Applause
47
147424
2826
02:42
So you can have a law,
48
150274
1758
02:44
but it's changing改變 the hearts心中 and minds頭腦
to match比賽 up with it.
49
152056
2915
02:46
That's when it really rocks岩石, totally完全.
50
154995
2547
02:49
So that was on my mind心神.
51
157566
1151
02:50
I wanted to start開始 that change更改
in the hearts心中 and minds頭腦.
52
158741
3589
02:54
But two things came來了 out of that match比賽.
53
162354
2792
03:00
They actually其實 had enough足夠 nerve神經
to ask for a raise提高.
55
168350
2542
03:03
Some women婦女 have waited等待
10, 15 years年份 to ask.
56
171675
3841
03:07
I said, "More importantly重要的,
did you get it?"
57
175838
2001
03:09
(Laughter
58
177863
1068
03:10
And they did!
59
178955
1174
03:12
And for the men男人?
60
180153
1794
03:13
A lot of the men男人 today今天 don't realize實現 it,
61
181971
2831
03:16
but if you're in your 50s, 60s
or whatever隨你, late晚了 40s,
62
184826
5405
03:22
you're the first generation of men男人
of the Women's女士的 Movement運動 --
63
190255
3576
03:25
whether是否 you like it or not!
64
193855
1292
03:27
(Laughter
65
195171
3022
03:30
(Applause
66
198217
1283
03:31
And for the men男人,
67
199524
1151
03:32
what happened發生 for the men男人,
they'd他們會 come up to me --
68
200699
2615
03:35
and most times, the men男人 are the ones那些
who have tears眼淚 in their eyes眼睛,
69
203338
3101
03:38
it's very interesting有趣.
70
206463
1151
03:39
They go, "Billie比莉, I was very young年輕
when I saw that match比賽,
71
207638
4013
03:43
and now I have a daughter女兒.
72
211675
1354
03:47
And I am so happy快樂 I saw that
as a young年輕 man."
73
215193
2797
03:50
And one of those young年輕 men男人,
at 12 years年份 old, was President主席 Obama奧巴馬.
74
218588
3549
03:54
And he actually其實 told me that
when I met會見 him, he said:
75
222934
2720
03:57
"You don't realize實現 it,
but I saw that match比賽 at 12.
76
225678
2958
04:00
And now I have two daughters
77
228660
1853
04:02
and it has made製作 a difference區別
in how I raise提高 them."
78
230537
2426
04:04
So both men男人 and women婦女 got a lot
out of it, but different不同 things.
79
232987
4717
04:10
PM下午: And now there are generations --
at least最小 one or two --
80
238276
3155
04:13
who have experienced有經驗的 the equality平等
81
241455

04:16

along沿 the way made製作 possible可能.
82
244179
4886
04:21
And for women婦女, there are generations
who have also experienced有經驗的 teamwork團隊合作.
83
249089
4591
04:25
They got to play team球隊 sports體育
in a way they hadn't有沒有 before.
84
253704
4050

07:38
is really about the workforce勞動力 mostly大多,
and trying to change更改 it,
145
446435
3064
07:41
so people can actually其實 go to work
and be their authentic真實 selves自我.
146
449523
4345
07:45
Because most of us have two jobs

07:56
goes to the bathroom浴室

08:09
Or this poor較差的 man who kept不停 his diploma文憑 --

08:35
It just goes on and on.
166
503097

08:36
So my wish希望 for everyone大家 is to be able能夠

09:09
that these examples例子 you just used --
177
537815

09:13
that many許多 of us have the problem問題
of being存在 authentic真實.
178
541075
4805
09:17
But what you've just looked看著 at
is this millennial千年 generation,
179
545904
4025
09:21
who have benefited受益 from all these
09:25
which哪一個 may可能 not be equal等於
but exist存在 everywhere到處 --
181
553515

09:27
BJKBJK: First of all, I'm really lucky

183
557443

09:33
That's really the reason原因
I'm able能夠 to do this.
184
561999
2173
09:36
I've had two times in my life
185
564517
1461
09:38
where I've actually其實 had men男人
really behind背後 me with power功率.
186
566002
2686
09:40
And that was in the old days

187
568712
3290

09:46
And then Deloitte
189
574384
1349
09:49
The one thing I wanted was data數據 -- facts事實.
190
577157
2785
09:52
So Deloitte德勤 sent發送 out a survey調查,
191
580465
1727
09:54
and over 4,000 people now have answered回答,

582216
4005
09:58

10:04
Well, they feel a lot, but what

10:23
and get into the solution.
201
611993
1253
10:25
They're problem-solvers
10:26
and of course課程, you've got
the information信息 at your fingertips指尖,

11:17
BJKBJK: No, well, if we want to talk --

220
665274
3764
11:21
I've been talking to the Boomers,
who are their bosses老闆, and I go,
221

677939
1456
11:31
(Laughter

12:00
I just heard聽說 a story故事 the other night:
238
708287
1841
12:02

like an intern實習生, she's
just starting開始 -- she goes,
241
716736
2648
12:11
"Oh, by the way, I'm going to be late晚了
because I'm at the hairdresser's理髮店."
242
719408
3383

12:23
"What's going on?"
