As a boy,
0
0
2000
Bir oğlan kimi
00:17
I loved cars.
1
2000
2000
mən maşınları sevirdim.
00:19
When I turned 18,
2
4000
2000
18 yaşım olanda,
00:21
I lost my best friend to a car accident.
3
6000
3000
mən ən yaxın dostumu yol qəzasında itirdim.
00:25
Like this.
4
10000
2000
Belə.
00:27
And then I decided I'd dedicate my life
5
12000
3000
Və sonra qərara aldım ki, bütün ömrümü
00:30
to saving one million people
6
15000
2000
hər il bir million insanı
00:32
every year.
7
17000
2000
xilas etməyə həsr edim.
00:34
Now I haven't succeeded, so this is just a progress report,
8
19000
3000
Hələ ki, buna nail olmamışam, ona görə də bu
sadəcə hesabatdır,
00:37
but I'm here to tell you a little bit about self-driving cars.
9
22000
3000
mən sizə özünüidarəedən maşınlar haqda
danışmaq üçün burdayam.
00:40
I saw the concept first
10
25000
2000
Mən ilk öncə DARPA Grand Challenges-də
00:42
in the DARPA Grand Challenges
11
27000
2000
Birləşmiş Ştatlar hökumətinin
00:44
where the U.S. government issued a prize
12
29000
2000
səhrada özünü idarə edə biləcək
maşınlar üçün
00:46
to build a self-driving car that could navigate a desert.
13
31000
3000
elan etdiyi mükafat barədə yazı gördüm.
00:49
And even though a hundred teams were there,
14
34000
3000
Və orada yüzlərlə komandanın
olmağına baxmayaraq,
00:52
these cars went nowhere.
15
37000
3000
onların heç biri bunu edə bilmirdi.
00:55
So we decided at Stanford to build a different self-driving car.
16
40000
3000
Beləliklə, biz Stanfordda qərara gəldik ki,
fərqli bir özünüidarə edən maşın hazırlayaq.
00:58
We built the hardware and the software.
17
43000
3000
Qurğusunu və proqram təminatını hazırladıq.
01:01
We made it learn from us,
18
46000
2000
Ona lazım olanı öyrətdik,
01:03
and we set it free in the desert.
19
48000
3000
və onu səhraya sərbəst buraxdıq.
01:06
And the unimaginable happened:
20
51000
2000
Və təsəvvür edilməyəcək şeylər yaşandı:
01:08
it became the first car
21
53000
2000
Bizim maşın DARPA Grand Challenge-dan
01:10
to ever return from a DARPA Grand Challenge,
22
55000
2000
qayıdan birinci maşın oldu və Stanforda
01:12
winning Stanford 2 million dollars.
23
57000
3000
2 milyard dollar qazandırdı.
01:17
Yet I still hadn't saved a single life.
24
62000
3000
İndiyədək mən heç kimin həyatını xilas etməmişəm.
01:20
Since, our work has focused
25
65000
3000
O zamandan bəri biz
01:23
on building driving cars
26
68000
2000
Kaliforniyanın istənilən küçəsində
01:25
that can drive anywhere by themselves --
27
70000
3000
özünü idarə edə bilən maşınlar
01:28
any street in California.
28
73000
2000
üzərində işləyirik.
01:30
We've driven 140,000 miles.
29
75000
3000
Biz 140,000 mil qət etmişik.
01:33
Our cars have sensors
30
78000
3000
Bizim maşınlarda sensorlar quraşdırılmışdır ki,
01:36
by which they magically can see
31
81000
3000
onların sayəsində maşınlar
01:39
everything around them
32
84000
2000
ətraflarındakı hər şeyi görürlər.
01:41
and make decisions
33
86000
2000
Və bununla da hərəkət barədə
01:43
about every aspect of driving.
34
88000
3000
düzgün qərarı qəbul edə bilirlər.
01:46
It's the perfect driving mechanism.
35
91000
3000
Bu mükəmməl idarəetmə mexanızmidir.
01:49
We've driven in cities,
36
94000
2000
Biz San Fransisko kimi müxtəlif
01:51
like in San Francisco here.
37
96000
2000
şəhərlərdə də hərəkət edirdik.
01:53
We've driven from San Francisco to Los Angeles on Highway 1.
38
98000
4000
Biz 1 nömrəli magistral boyu San Fransiskodan
Los Ancelesə qədər sürdük.
01:57
We've encountered joggers,
39
102000
2000
Biz yol boyu idmançılarla,
01:59
busy highways, toll booths,
40
104000
3000
tıxaclı yollarla, vergi məntəqələri ilə
qarşılaşdıq,
02:02
and this is without a person in the loop;
41
107000
2000
və bunların hamısı sürücüsüz gerçəkləşdi,
02:04
the car just drives itself.
42
109000
2000
maşın sadəcə özünü idarə edirdi.
02:06
In fact, while we drove 140,000 miles,
43
111000
3000
Beləliklə, biz 140,000 mil qət etdik
02:09
people didn't even notice.
44
114000
3000
və insanlar heç bunun fərqinə varmadılar.
02:12
Mountain roads,
45
117000
2000
Dağ yolları,
02:14
day and night,
46
119000
3000
səhər və axşam,
02:17
and even crooked Lombard Street
47
122000
3000
və hətta San Fransiskodakı
02:20
in San Francisco.
48
125000
2000
əyri-üyrü Lombard küçəsi,
02:22
(Laughter)
49
127000
2000
(Alqışlar)
02:25
Sometimes our cars get so crazy,
50
130000
3000
Bəzən bizim maşınlar "dəli olurdular",
02:28
they even do little stunts.
51
133000
3000
onlar qeyri-adi hərəkətlər edirdilər.
02:32
(Video) Man: Oh, my God.
52
137000
2000
(Video) Birinci Şəxs: Aman Tanrım.
02:36
What?
53
141000
2000
Nə?
02:38
Second Man: It's driving itself.
54
143000
3000
İkinci Şəxs: Bu özünü idarə edir.
02:42
Sebastian Thrun: Now I can't get my friend Harold back to life,
55
147000
3000
Sebstyan Sran: Mən öz dostum Haroldu
həyata qaytara bilmirəm,
02:45
but I can do something for all the people who died.
56
150000
2000
lakin bütün dünyasını dəyişmiş insanlar üçün
bir şey edə bilərəm.
02:47
Do you know that driving accidents
57
152000
3000
Bilirsiniz ki, yol qəzaları
02:50
are the number one cause of death for young people?
58
155000
3000
cavan insanların ölümünün
bir nömrəli səbəbidir?
02:53
And do you realize that almost all of those
59
158000
3000
Başa düşürsünüz ki, bunların hamısı
02:56
are due to human error
60
161000
3000
maşın xətası ilə yox,
02:59
and not machine error,
61
164000
2000
insan xətası ilə bağlıdır
03:01
and can therefore be prevented by machines?
62
166000
3000
və maşınlar tərəfindən qarşısı alına bilər?
03:05
Do you realize
63
170000
2000
Anlayırsınızmı ki,
03:07
that we could change the capacity of highways
64
172000
3000
bir neçə faktorun köməyi ilə
biz magistral yolların həcmini dəyişə bilərik?
03:10
by a factor of two or three
65
175000
3000
Əgər bir zolaqda durmağı insan dəqiqliyinə
güvənmədən
03:13
if we didn't rely on human precision
66
178000
2000
avtomatik təkmilləşdirə bilsək və bununla da
03:15
on staying in the lane --
67
180000
2000
bir-birimizə daha yaxın sürsək,
03:17
improve body position
68
182000
2000
və daha ensiz zolaqlar yaratsaq,
03:19
and therefore drive a little bit closer together
69
184000
2000
biz magistrallardakı tıxaclardan
03:21
on a little bit narrower lanes,
70
186000
2000
qurtula bilərik.
03:23
and do away with all traffic jams on highways?
71
188000
3000
Başa düşürsünüz ki, sizlər,
03:28
Do you realize that you, TED users,
72
193000
3000
TED istifadəçiləri,
03:31
spend an average
73
196000
2000
yol tıxaclarında hər gün
03:33
of 52 minutes per day
74
198000
2000
orta hesabla 52 dəqiqə keçirirsiniz,
03:35
in traffic,
75
200000
2000
03:37
wasting your time
76
202000
2000
və bununla da
03:39
on your daily commute?
77
204000
3000
gündəlik nə qədər vaxtınızı itirirsiniz?
03:42
You could regain this time.
78
207000
2000
Siz bu vaxtı yenidən əldə edə bilərsiniz.
03:44
This is four billion hours
79
209000
2000
Bu təkcə bizim ölkədə
03:46
wasted in this country alone.
80
211000
3000
4 milyard saat deməkdir.
03:49
And it's 2.4 billion gallons of gasoline wasted.
81
214000
4000
Və bu 2.4 milyard qallon qazolin deməkdir.
03:53
Now I think there's a vision here, a new technology,
82
218000
3000
İndi mən gələcəyi, yeni texnologiyanı görürəm,
03:56
and I'm really looking forward to a time
83
221000
2000
bizdən sonrakı nəsillərin geriyə baxdıqca
03:58
when generations after us look back at us
84
223000
2000
insanların maşın sürməklərinin
04:00
and say how ridiculous it was that humans were driving cars.
85
225000
3000
necə gülünc olduğunu söyləyəcəkləri
