00:20
So let's watch a movement운동 happen우연히 있다, start스타트 to finish, in under아래에 three minutes의사록

00:23
and dissect해부하다 some lessons수업 from it.

8000
3000
00:26
First, of course코스 you know, a leader리더 needs필요 the guts끈기

11000
2000
00:28
to stand out and be ridiculed조롱당한.
5
13000
3000
00:32
But what he's doing is so easy쉬운 to follow따르다.
6
17000
2000
00:34
So here's여기에 his first follower수행원 with a crucial결정적인 role역할;
7
19000
3000
00:37
he's going to show보여 주다 everyone각자 모두 else그밖에 how to follow따르다.
8
22000
2000
00:39
Now, notice주의 that the leader리더 embraces품다 him as an equal같은.
9
24000
2000
00:41
So, now it's not about the leader리더 anymore더 이상;
10
26000
2000
더 이상 리더가 아닙니다;
00:43
it's about them, plural복수형.
11
28000
2000
00:45
Now, there he is calling부름 to his friends친구.
12
30000
2000
00:47
Now, if you notice주의 that the first follower수행원
13
32000
2000
00:49
is actually사실은 an underestimated과소 평가 된 form형태 of leadership지도 in itself그 자체.
14
34000
4000
00:53
It takes guts끈기 to stand out like that.
15
38000
2000
00:55
The first follower수행원 is what transforms변환
16
40000
3000
00:58
a lone고독한 nut너트 into a leader리더.
17
43000
2000

01:02

01:05
And here comes온다 a second둘째 follower수행원.
20
50000
2000
01:07
Now it's not a lone고독한 nut너트, it's not two nuts견과류 --
21
52000
2000
01:09
three is a crowd군중, and a crowd군중 is news뉴스.
22
54000
3000
01:12
So a movement운동 must절대로 필요한 것 be public공공의.
23
57000
2000
01:14
It's important중대한 to show보여 주다 not just to show보여 주다 the leader리더, but the followers추종자,
24
59000
3000
01:17
because you find that new새로운 followers추종자
25
62000
2000
01:19
emulate에뮬레이트하다 the followers추종자, not the leader리더.
26
64000
3000
01:22
Now, here come two more people, and immediately바로 after,
27
67000
2000
01:24
three more people.
28
69000
2000
01:26
Now we've우리는 got momentum기세. This is the tipping point포인트.
29
71000
2000
01:28
Now we've우리는 got a movement운동.
30
73000
3000
01:32
So, notice주의 that, as more people join어울리다 in,
31
77000
2000
01:34
it's less적게 risky위험한.
32
79000
2000
01:36
So those that were sitting좌석 on the fence울타리 before, now have no reason이유 not to.
33
81000
3000
01:39
They won't습관 stand out,
34
84000
2000
01:41
they won't습관 be ridiculed조롱당한,
35
86000
2000
01:43
but they will be part부품 of the in-crowd군중 속에서 if they hurry서두르다.
36
88000
2000
01:45
(Laughter
37
90000
3000
01:48
So, over the next다음 것 minute,
38
93000
2000
01:50
you'll see all of those that prefer취하다 to stick스틱 with the crowd군중
39
95000
2000
01:52
because eventually결국 they would be ridiculed조롱당한
40
97000
2000
01:54
for not joining합류 in.
41
99000
2000
01:56
And that's how you make a movement운동.
42
101000
2000
01:58
But let's recap요약하다 some lessons수업 from this.
43
103000
2000
02:00
So first, if you are the type유형,
44
105000
3000
02:03
like the shirtless셔츠가없는 dancing댄스 guy that is standing서 있는 alone혼자,
45
108000
3000
02:06
remember생각해 내다 the importance중요성 of nurturing육성
46
111000
2000
02:08
your first few조금 followers추종자 as equals같음
47
113000
2000
02:10
so it's clearly분명히 about the movement운동, not you.
48
115000
3000
02:13
Okay, but we might have missed놓친 the real레알 lesson교훈 here.
49
118000
3000
02:16
The biggest가장 큰 lesson교훈, if you noticed알아 차 렸던 --
50
121000
2000
02:18
did you catch잡기 it? -- is that leadership지도
51
123000
2000
02:22
That, yes, it was the shirtless셔츠가없는 guy who was first,
53
127000
2000
02:24
and he'll지옥 get all the credit신용,
54
129000
2000
02:26
but it was really the first follower수행원
55
131000
2000
02:28
that transformed변형 된 the lone고독한 nut너트 into a leader리더.
56
133000
3000
02:31
So, as we're told that we should all be leaders
57
136000
2000
02:33
that would be really ineffective효과적인.
58
138000
2000
02:35
If you really care케어 about starting출발 a movement운동,
59
140000
2000
02:37
have the courage용기 to follow따르다
60
142000
2000
02:39
and show보여 주다 others다른 사람 how to follow따르다.
61
144000
2000
02:41
And when you find a lone고독한 nut너트 doing something great,
62
146000
2000
02:43
have the guts끈기 to be the first one
63
148000
2000
02:45
to stand up and join어울리다 in.
64
150000
2000
02:47
And what a perfect완전한 place장소 to do that, at TED테드.
